The Pre-University Cycle of Cinema and VFX at FX Barcelona Film School is a 2-year in-person program designed for youths from 16 years old who wish to discover and develop their talent in the world of film, animation, video games, concept art, visual effects (VFX), and digital arts. This unique training combines from the basics of design and photography to the fundamentals of cinematic language and visual creativity, providing a solid and practical foundation to start a professional career in the audiovisual industry or pursue specialized studies in FX. Throughout the cycle, students consolidate their vocation, explore different disciplines, and build a personalized final project that reflects their professional interests.

In the first year, the foundations of 3D art, drawing, 2D animation, photography and visual creation, graphic design, and image editing with Photoshop are laid. You will learn the fundamental principles of lighting, composition, color, editing, and animation, along with the development of body awareness, expression, and acting, fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. You will work on creating images, characters, environments, producing advertising spots, and advanced composition exercises.

The second year is geared towards specialization and knowledge integration. You will delve into cinematic creation, audiovisual language, short film production, and scene analysis, combining it with digital arts, advanced modeling, 3D animation, post-production, and VFX. Additionally, you will develop skills in concept art, character and environment design, applied creativity, and on-camera acting, managing both personal and group projects.

The training culminates with a customized vocational project, where you will integrate the acquired knowledge to define your professional profile and specialize in one of our Degrees.
