The Master's Degree in Acting at FX Barcelona Film School is designed for actors over 20 years old who want to deepen their craft and, especially, develop specific tools to perform confidently in front of the camera and within the audiovisual industry. The programme combines on-camera acting, script analysis, physical and creative work, comedy, personal marketing, casting, and a final filming project.
The course is structured from a highly practical perspective, with active professionals and instructors, aiming not only to enhance the student’s acting skills but also to ensure they finish the training with filming experience and audiovisual material to use professionally.

María Ripoll.
Spanish film director. Her film Ahora o nunca was considered the second most watched Spanish feature film directed by a woman in the history of Spanish cinema.
María Ripoll was nominated in 2000 for the Goya Award for Best New Director, nominated in 2021 for the ALMA Award for Best Film Director, and winner at the same event in the Best Supporting Actress category. She also won the 2014 Gaudí Awards for Best Film (Rastros de sándalo) among other professional achievements.

Mireia Rey
Mireia Rey is an actress, playwright and director, trained in Audiovisual Communication and Acting in Barcelona, and in Film, TV and Acting at UCLA (Los Angeles). She has continued her training with renowned professionals in acting, directing and movement.
She has an extensive background in film, television and theatre. In film, she has worked in Mientras dure la guerra by Alejandro Amenábar, El 47, Disco, Ibiza, Locomía, Bird Box Barcelona, 100 metros and La Octava Dimensión, among other projects. On television, she has appeared in series such as Ravalear, Terra Alta, Estoy vivo, Paraíso, Madres. Amor y vida, Benvinguts a la família, Com si fos ahir and La Riera.
Her experience also extends to theatre, playwriting and directing, with more than 15 years linked to professional theatre projects. She co-created and performed in Frontera, premiered at Sala Beckett, and combines her artistic career with creative coaching for other performers.

Cristina Brondo
Actress with an extensive professional career; she began working in advertising at 14 and made her television debut at 16 in Poblenou (TV3), where she became well-known as Claudia. She later starred in 16 dobles and trained at the Nancy Tuñón school, as well as studying with Manuel Lillo and Eulàlia Blasi.
In film, she made her acting debut with La camisa de la serpiente and took part in El far, Entre las piernas and Lola vende cá, a role she prepared for with intensive fieldwork in the La Mina neighbourhood. She also appeared in the international production Una casa de locos. In 2004, she starred in Hipnos, playing a young psychologist in a psychological horror thriller.

Marcos Franz
Film and television actor with experience in national and international productions and an acting coach specialising in on-camera performance. His teaching approach is based on practical stage work and training in specific skills: objective, listening, relationship, behaviour, camera, casting, feedback and the ability to take direction.
He has worked on Netflix productions such as Merlí and Valeria, The Young Pope (Dir. Paolo Sorrentino) La fossa and La mosquitera among other productions.

Xavi Siles
Actor, director and acting coach, Xavi Siles has an extensive professional background in film, television, theatre and advertising, as well as solid experience as a trainer for actors and directors.
As an actor, he has worked in film productions such as Salvador, Ingrid, El Kaserón, Sin límites (Little Ashes), Sal, Sonata para violonchelo and Moonlight Café, as well as numerous television series and productions, including La Riera, Hospital Central, Infidels, El cor de la ciutat, Ventdelplà and Felipe y Letizia.
His professional experience also extends to on-camera work, where he works as an acting coach preparing actors for castings and shoots.
In parallel, he has developed a career as a director and screenwriter, directing short films such as El último tren, Sofía & Max and Me verás. His journey is complemented by extensive teaching experience, having led workshops and masterclasses focused especially on performing in front of the camera, casting and the tools needed to thrive in a professional audiovisual environment.

1. Seeking the Truth: On-Camera Acting

Schedule: Monday to Wednesday, 18:00 to 21:00
The master's begins with advanced script analysis and on-camera acting work. It delves into how to bring the words of a scene to life, work with subtext, and access the characters' internal world. Tools are also developed to resolve scenes, collaborate with directors, rehearse and improvise. The aim is to provide actors with strategies they can apply both in rehearsals and during film or television shoots.
2. Body and Energy, the Creative Body
Instructor: Mireia Rey
Dates: 26, 27 and 28 October
Schedule: 18:00 to 21:00
Three intensive days centred on the body, voice, presence and listening. This module works on breathing, movement, flexibility, mindfulness, spatial awareness and the ability to make creative decisions live. The objective is to expand the performer's resources through bodily and creative work.
3. Seeking Truth in Comedy
Instructor: María Ripoll
Dates: from 2 to 25 November
Schedule: Monday to Wednesday, 18:00 to 21:00
An advanced workshop in script analysis and actor direction specifically applied to comedy. It focuses on how to find humour within situations, build characters free from clichés, and make scenes connect with the audience. The work combines analysis, practical exercises, rehearsals and improvisation.
4. Personal Marketing for Actors
Instructor: Cristina Brondo
Dates: from 1 to 23 December
Schedule: Monday to Wednesday, 18:00 to 21:00
This module shifts learning from purely interpretative skills to professional development. Students work on their personal brand, positioning and differentiation, as well as tools to present their profile via social media, casting platforms, CV, showreel, photographs and biography. It also covers networking and strategies to increase visibility and professional opportunities.
5. Casting Module
Instructor: Marcos Franz
Dates: 11, 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20 January
Schedule: 18:00 to 21:00
A highly practical module designed to introduce students to the real conditions of an audiovisual casting. It covers analysis and preparation of sides, building an acting proposal, working on camera, self-taping, redirection and the simulation of a professional casting with callbacks.
6. Final Project and Filming
Acting Coach: Xavi Siles

Dates: from 25 January to 10 February
Schedule: Monday to Wednesday, 18:00 to 21:00
The master's culminates with the production of a short film created specifically for the participants. The script and character creation are worked on in advance, rehearsals are held and students participate in preproduction and production. The project includes 3 days of professional shooting with the school's infrastructure, equipment and professionals. Afterwards, participants receive the edited short film, enabling them to extract material for their showreel.

5. Showreel, CV and Professional Material
Throughout the training, you will prepare and update the materials you need to present yourself for castings.

7. Final Filmed Project
At the end, you will shoot a final piece with professional direction and receive a detailed analysis of your progress.

To be admitted to the Master's Degree in Acting for Film, Series, and Advertising, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be 20 years old or older.
- Basic prior acting knowledge (school, workshops or experience).
- A strong vocation for acting in the audiovisual sector, especially film, series or advertising.
- Portfolio, showreel or recorded scenes (if you don’t have these, you can submit simple material or a presentation).

Is previous experience necessary?
Basic acting knowledge is recommended, but having worked in film is not mandatory. The master's adapts to each student's level.
Do I need a showreel to apply?
It is not essential. If you don't have one, you can send a short presentation video or previously recorded scenes.
What material will I have upon completion?
You will receive professionally filmed scenes, material for your showreel, strategic guidance, and analysis of your acting development.
Is there an option to continue my training afterwards?

Can I combine the master's with work or other activities?
The schedule is designed to be compatible, but the master’s requires commitment and regular attendance.
